At the pass of Meria Keli [2'370m] the driving road from Gomismta to Naghvarevi meets a basic track to Baisura and a hiking trail to Chridila. It is a small alp village where the
people of Naghvarevi stay during the summer months to grass their catle and plant some
vegetables.
Because of its location it is a good start point for some day hikes and a perfect stop over on multiple day tours.
The Alp hut at 2'400 meters lies on a ridge high above Adjara with great views until Turkey. It has got 3 simple rooms with bunk beds for up to 12 people. Toilets and one shower are in the basement. There is also a sauna with rest room.
A ski, boot and bike room offers a safe and dry storage for your equipment and a chance to repair or service it. A nice terrace offers sunlouchers and hamocks. From the terrace you have a beautifull view over Adjara and into Turkey.
The first floor offers a cosy living room with fire place and panorama windows. The dinning table is right next to it and on the small buffet are tee and cookies available all day long.
Our team of local cooks prepare fresh traditional food. As far as possible we purchase products from the local farmers. You will find all the popular Georgian dishes prepared with knowledge and dedication.
In the morning we offer fruit, muesli and juices. The jam is home made, so is the bread. The honey comes from the local beekeeper, cheese, corn and potatoes from the farmers.
The hut is equipped with solar panels and a back-up generator. Heating and hot water is by wood fire; the wood comes from the local forestry. The fresh water source is a spring high up on the mountain. There is a weak phone and internet signal at the hut.
